What is retinol?
Retinol belongs to a family known as retinoids that comes from vitamin A. We all aware that it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, by stimulating the collagen production. This in turns promote skin cell turnover, smooth out fines lines and wrinkles, fade away acne scars, blemishes and discolouration. This ingredient is found in serums and creams. Thus, having a wide range of benefits to the skin.
How should I apply?
The best way of applying this product is to use a small amount on the face. As large amounts can make the skin red and sore. It is always best to consult your skin specialist or dermatologist to see which percentage is best for your skin.
Step 1: Wash your face and use eye cream.
Step 2: Let the face dry.
Step 3: Pea size of retinol to the skin, start from chin then work your way upwards to rest part of the face.
Step 4: Moisturizer and cream should be applied to the skin next.
Step 5: Sunscreen should be after applying in the morning, as retinol can makes the skin sensitive to the sun. It is best to it at night due to the skin sensitivity. Thus, it is best to follow these steps when using this product.
How often should I apply?
Apply every other night, so that the skin don’t become too irritation or sensitive. Also It takes several weeks for the skin to get use to the product. Thus, best to use every third night or once a week depending on how your skin can take retinol.
