Instead it a condition that causes tiny bumps on the skin that does not cause any itchiness. Often we don’t know what this. Thus, it is a condition that is ignored.

What is keratosis Pilaris?

Keratosis pilaris is a skin condition that involves the hair follicle in the skin. It is often between 1mm to 2mm  rough bumps on the skin in size.

These rough bumps appear on the back of the arms, buttocks, upper thighs and cheeks. Adolescent are 50% to 80%  and 40% adults are likely to get this as it is inherited. As majority of people who get this have people in the family with the same condition. Keratosis Pilaris get worse during certain stages in life. For instance, during puberty and it improves with age. Therefore, there is a stage in your life you can experience this.

What can I do to treat keratosis Pilaris?

There is no particular treatment for keratosis pilaris. Instead it is best to moisturize the skin well to help with the bump like symptoms. This includes moisturize the skin after you had the shower and before you go bed to apply a thick layer. It is best to use moisturizer that contains  ceraminds and hyaluronic to help to keep moisture to retain in the skin. Thus, it is important a to look for a good moisturizer.

What type of body wash I need to use?

When looking for a body wash best to look for the ones that contain lactic acid, salicylic acid and glycolic acid that will help with the roughness. As it all help exfoliate the skin, when it’s used three times a week. This will help to remove dead skin cells. Thus, improving the texture of the bumps.
